Rank Match is a gameplay mode.
Details[]
Rank Match is a mode in which you play against other human players as your opponent. As you win games your rank increases, and according to your rank you gain rewards such as DMPoints, pack tickets and cup accessories at the end of the cup.
Divisions[]
There is 2 divisions to play in New Division & All Division. Players would need to win at least 5 times in each division in order to receive the rewards for that division at the end of the cup.
Rank[]
There is a total of 7 different Ranks in Duel Masters Play's.
Within each rank from Beginner to Platinum, there are tiers, namely 1 - 5. The higher the tier within a given rank, the closer the player is to the next rank. By earning enough stars in Silver 1, a player will be promoted to Gold 5.
However this is different when it comes to the Duel Masters rank. As a player's rank status is based on the player's position within the Duel Masters rank which is determined by the player's ELO and MMR.
Thus by being within the top 100 place of the Duel Masters Rank at the end of the day, the player will be promoted to Duel Master Legend Rank. However once your position is no longer within the top 100, the player's rank icon will change back to Duel Masters however you will still get the rewards for achieving Duel Masters Legend.
Stars[]
From the Beginner to Platinum rank, winning matches earns players star(s) while losing causes the player to lose a star. Stars are needed to tier up and ultimately rank up. Losing star(s) can cause a player to go down tier(s) however the player's rank cannot be be demoted. (Eg. If a Gold 5 (1 Star) player loses a match, they will remain at Gold 5 (1 Star) and not be demoted to Silver 1 (5 Stars).)*Each rank has 5 tiers and a different amount of stars required per tier.

However in the Duel Masters Rank, players do not have stars but instead gain/lose ELO during a match. The higher the player's ELO the higher position the player will be ranked. As a Duel Masters Ranked player, winning against a player who has the rank of Beginner to Platinum, will not increase your ELO (May decrease your Position by 1) therefore it is a common courtesy for Duel Masters players to concede against those players as they will receive star(s) for winning.
Win Streaks[]
By winning 2 matches in a roll, the player will obtain a win streak. Winning matches from here onward will reward the player with 2 stars instead of 1. Losing will break the win streak and cause the player to only lose 1 star.
Jump Up Chance[]
With the challenge system, if you win 4 consecutive games while on rank gold and below, the next match will be against an opponent with a higher rank. If you win, you will jump to the opponent's rank. This is known as "Jump Up Chance".
- Eg. If the player with Gold 1 (3 Stars) wins the "Jump Up Chance" match, the player's rank will be promoted to Platinum 1 (3 Stars).
Duel Master Legend Rank[]
In order to reach Duel Masters Legend rank, one must be within the top 100 Duel Masters Rank players at the end of the day (23:59 JST).
However, on the last day of the cup the cut off time would be 23:45 JST. The Duel Master Legend rank will reset every day so if your ELO is below the top 100 place, your rank will be reverted to Duel Masters. However, you will still qualify for the rewards for Duel Masters Legend at the end of the cup.
Rank Rewards[]
As the cup changes, the player will receive rewards based on the player's highest achieved rank in the former cup for both New Division & All Division. Pack tickets given out will be from the Latest DMPP Set.
- The rewards were changed after the Dolballom (December 2020) cup.
- The rewards were changed again after the Last Storm XX (September 2022) cup.

Season cups are held every month. The higher the player's rank, the more rewards a player receives.
- A cup specific Card Sleeve & Playmat would be rewarded to players who reached Duel Masters Rank.
- A title specific to the event is also rewarded to the Top player and Top 100 players at the end of the cup.
